Re: Multi Monitor Support

I heard only about planar rendering support directly in AMD/nVidia hardware. But most of the pipeline is programmable so it can be added with overhead (as outerra does). Condor2 support for multiple monitors was stated. There was no indication that V2 will support anything than single camera, single...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

Clearly, but I found it impressive that 360° even worked, and appeared playable on a single screen. 120 degrees on 3 screens would be easy then ;). I have already seen it posted somewhere. Maybe it was not this message board. But if the goal is to fight against distortions then that is not the way ...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

:D, pretty good. Though Gamma(x+1) would be more impressive.
I'm sure some community members feel like that :)

Re: Multi Monitor Support

Of course, clouds on the sides of the janjansen's monitors are stretched. We see them stretched because we are looking at an image which was rendered lets say under 110° FOV. But when we look at the image as it is posted on this message board then we look at them with very tiny FOV. The options are ...

Re: What Makes Condor so Good?

If you want a simulator which simulates glider flying the best(*) then you need Condor. The rest is crap. Or at least it was crap few years ago when I was trying alternatives to Condor. Maybe they improved in the meantime. (*) meaning: how much it corresponds to reality from the glider behaviour poi...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

Multiple cameras of viewports(*) is the best option. It doesnt fix the problem for (very) high aspect ratio monitors, even if they are single and flat. If you see distortion with planar projection on a flat monitor (regardless of the monitor size) then position of your head relative to the monitor ...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

Cylindrical projection would distort / "compress" left and right side of the picture on flat monitors (if the cylinder has vertical orientation). Cylindrical projection is good only for cylindrical monitors with the same radius of curvature as in the projection parameters. I doubt any engi...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

EDB is just trolling you. The proper response is to ignore the trolling.

You have a point that it would be fine if Condor would support setting of FOV and multiple cameras. Whether it ever happens is something else entirely.

Re: Multi Monitor Support

Agreed. The less the monitors are in one plane the more it is useful to have multiple cameras.

Re: VR discussion

You do not need multiple views for multi monitor support.
It is needed only when when one needs to view the same scene from two different cameras (as in VR where each eye needs its camera).

Re: Condor 2.0? honesty please

johanp, you seem a bit naive if you expect any time scales. OXO told you that they work on it in their free time. Any good manager can realize consequences of that. This is the critical difference between Condor developers and regular companies. Why the hell would OXO and company bother with plannin...

Re: Condor 2.0? honesty please

I predict that VR goggles are going to be as popular as 3D movies, i.e. not much. They are still quite heavy at about 0.5 kg. There are discrepancies between accelerations reported by the inner ear and the visual feedback (maybe some kind of moving chair which simulates acceleration can help here). ...

Re: Condor 2.0? honesty please

If that comment is targeting phercek's convoluted scheme, then yay :) Hohooo, that is not my "convoluted scheme". That is what many industries do. Trying to close eyes before it will not help. It is also not all wrong. Notice that these schemes allow to buy by people for whom even 40 € is...

Re: Condor 2.0? honesty please

Price around 100€ would be a deal breaker for many people. That is expected and intended. The point is that Condor has a monopoly. There is no viable alternative. Therefore they do not need to rush to market. People who are not willing to buy for 100€ could buy 5 years later for 40€. In the meantime...

Re: Condor 2.0? honesty please

The best way they can do is, offer a preorder for V2 including V1. I bet also that at least 50% of the community would do a preorder if they can get a nice discount, maybe 25%. The developer would gain money, and can maybe spend more time in finishing the product. I actually think that they should ...
