Re: Giving up gliding training after solo

I can somewhat relate to this person. I fought myself all throughout training, testing, and even after my check ride. Perhaps gliding isn't all that he hoped it would be. Perhaps he's not a naturally confident person and some experiences (which could be just in his head) had caused him to lose the c...

From what I understand there will be a way to convert sceneries to V2.

Re: scale

Yes, you need to assign textures to your objects. This tutorial was very helpful to me: https://youtu.be/wrV_YFnOGzU

Re: Condor 2.0? honesty please

A lot of contributors spend time in the "Development" section of the forum. There you'll find a lot of discussion on designing planes, sceneries, and props, which may or may not be utilized in Condor 2. If beta is just around the corner, I would guess that it's already too late to contribu...

Re: Condor 2.0? honesty please

As you are credited in the list of contributors to Condor2, you wont need to buy it.

.. but I'm 100% certain you would anyway, once you see what we have done.

See, I even forgot about that :) . And you're right, I probably would. Oh, BTW, what have you done?

Re: Condor 2.0? honesty please

Lately I've been visiting the forum more than I've been flying Condor. I forgot why. My interest has waned over the past year to a point that I'm not sure I'll even be buying V2. Just a couple of years ago I thought I'd be willing to pay upwards of $150 for it. I went from learning and building scen...

Re: Condor's lack of time acceleration feature

Well, if learning to look for lift doesn't interest you, perhaps soaring in general isn't your cup of tea.

Re: Photorealistic scenery tutorial

Go for it. There's no copyright, but if I made mistakes, you will own them now :D . I don't know how valid any tutorial will be once Condor 2 comes out. A lot of procedures may change.

Re: Photorealistic scenery tutorial

It seems that gdal doesn't recognize your TIFF coordinates. Perhaps your file is not georeferenced or the georeferencing was stripped during another process. It is important to use original georeferenced data and not re-save as TIFF in graphics software before using gdal tools. http://www.difference...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

For me and my budget it's still TrackIR FTW. I don't see (pun intended) how helpful it is to have a display that you can't focus on until you look at it :). Just tilt your head slightly (or a lot) and focus on whatever you need to focus on. I frequently have a need to look up or back. How many monit...

Re: Your favourite racing plane

I hope to fly more than 80 hours a year yes however it is weather dependent and I fly at least once a week, sometimes twice. I think my budget will allow me to buy something a little more efficient than the Phoebus C. It may be that I go into a 1/2 share syndicate, this may be my best option if I c...
