Re: [SBC2015] Main thread

Yes, I saw your Flight Track just now. I feel with you. :(

I managed to get myself cornered very early - comitting a liiitle to much - and crashed.
Reflew the task off-line immediately, and really a nice task. Nice touch with the baloon at TP2 :D

Re: [SBC2015] Main thread

I really enjoyed the last task in Alps XL, starting with lowlands and blue thermals. Transitioning to dramatic mountains and walls. I had some more learning experiences. Firstly, probably from right after start to first thermal I flew with the airbrakes open. I don't know how many hundreds of...

Re: [SBC2015] Main thread

+1 Many thanks Arneh. Even Slartibartfast would be impressed :-) How do you think really sculpted those Norwegian Fjords we were flying in.... I agree. I got stuck at the last turn point though. I came a bit too low and kept hanging on to a short piece of updraft at a small cliff by the sea,...

Re: [SBC2015] Main thread

I also have a request to the organizers. Could we have also the coordinates for the start and finish at the task brief? I'm trying to get acquainted with my "real" pad. And it would help if I could program the task on it too. If you are using LK8000 or XCSoar , the program Condor2nav may ...

Re: [SBC2015] Main thread

Sometimes the coordinates are there, sometimes they aren't... This last time they weren't :-) As Covurt said , the full information for the tasks are provided only 15 minutes before they start. Next time , try to reload the page within the last 15 minutes . Thanks - but in this case I was reading t...

Re: [SBC2015] Main thread

I believe DDH is how high you will be when you get there. I'm not sure about DH. DH is how much height you currently have compared to the turnpoint. DDH is the height you will have when you reach it, assuming you fly at your current macready speed, and assuming still air. Just to illustrate DH, DDH...

Re: [SBC2015] Main thread

But in todays task Day 11 in Provence, whilst circling, WELL INSIDE the start sector, I got a message that I'd started the task. Well - I thought, I then crossed startline, gained some more altitue. Flew back into the start sector and the crossed that the startline again - hoping to restart. Which ...

Hi!

Is there a handicap applied afterwards, or are glider types set, and if so to which?
