Re: Multi Monitor Support

Assuming there's no native solutions, anyone that is sufficiently bothered by this issue can use 3rd party warping solutions ... but this seemed relevant to this discussion unless I'm missing something. Carry on. Indeed it is relevant and if that's the solution we have to use to 'patch up' the offi...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

I think Tim wants to adapt the projection based on where you're looking at. In that video you linked (which is is awesome btw), you can see there is a section in the middle of the screen thats not distorted. Oh, I see. So the thinking would be to stay with the 'rectilinear projection' but reinterpr...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

I also just happened across a video about visulising different projection systems in Quake. It's using a packate known as "Blinky" and the project can be found on GitHub: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/shaunlebron/blinky/master/readme-img/blinky-rocket.png https://github.com/shaunlebron...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

You've lost me there Tim. Why does the system need to track eye movement? If the 'wrap around' projection were perfect you possibly wouldn't even have a need for TrackIR, let alone eye-tracking. How do you think the image should be rendered differently depending on which part of the screen you are f...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

"Aside from the fact condor doesnt even support UWHD resolution ? " I should have made it clearer that I was talking about V2 having no issues with UWHD monitors ... Oh, I see. And your "And that's the only comment I am making!" comment makes more sence too now. Good to hear :D :D

Re: Multi Monitor Support

I'm assuming here that you are rendering a wider field of view than the screen actually fills, yeah? IM not sure what you mean. Its a straight screenshot. If you meant zoom level, its zoomed out, as most people will fly condor almost all the time. Yes, that is what I meant. And yes, it would be com...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

I don't know much about the distortion of our peripheral vision but I can't imagine it really being anything that needs to be taken into consideration as such. If our eyes suffer from optical anomalies (which I'm willing to grant they almost certainly do), then, if the screens were to be drawing wha...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

...Its hard to miss how the cloud changed shape, became larger and stretched out, by almost 2x, just because its being rendered on the edge rather than the center of the screen. I'm assuming here that you are rendering a wider field of view than the screen actually fills, yeah? It's kind of hard to...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

I have a UWHD Monitor and can tell you that there are no issues whatsoever :) If your UWHD monitor is flat (or near to flat) then their would be no problem. The issue only occurs when you attempt to map what is intended to be a 'flat' image onto what is essentially a 'curved' surface. Note: You wil...

Re: What Makes Condor so Good?

Thanks janjansen, what you say is valid. By the way, I'm not completely discounting the possibility of getting V1, just explaining my situation. I dare say I will be jumping on the V2 wagon though the moment it lands ;) And while it's true that €40 wont break the bank I'm also looking into DCS (with...

Re: What Makes Condor so Good?

Thanks tberry, that's a good and clear list. I'm not sure why people are so eager to brand me a troll, I truly mean nothing of the sort. In fact I believe I have only spoken admirably of the simulator and my purpose of starting this thread was not to troll but to understand, well, what it is about C...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

After a short hiatus I just checked back in on this thread again and I'm pleased to see that the discussion is back on track. Freebird, thanks for posting that link. It may have been posted several times already but I actually hadn't seen it before myself and I found it most informative. In particul...

Re: Multi Monitor Support

Why this hostility?

Yes, I am new to the field and I'm doing my best to find my way.
How is it that I offend you so? It is really not my intent, so please accept my apologies, and do let us continue this discussion productively.

Re: Multi Monitor Support

Okay, as per the discussion in the "Condor 2.0? honesty please" thread it seems I need to clarify what I mean by "multi-monitor support". I had thought I had expressed myself clearly before but there still seems to be ambiguity so let me clarify further: There are two viable ways...
