Could you post your commandline and library-overrides in "winecfg"?

Hi,
I am a OSX user :) actually I have a macbook that i use for work; i have transfered my Condor from desktop PC to it and managed to start it in Wine (crossover Games software); so far i can only start a flight from flight school, cos a free flight return an error (refreshguifromflightplan.plane) and cant get my joystick to work, but once i am in air, the game run the same as in windows.

Any tips and tricks how to get a joystick working (i dont need the Forcefeedback).

Ty

I don't use MacOS, but Crossover Games runs the game as smoothly as wine here... (lin) Joystick works too.
Does your Joystick work in other apps?

Have you tried wine (not crossover, the only real wine)?
If you use wine, you'll need to override some dll's:
dpnet.dll and d3dxof.dll !, try the last one please! (copy to ~/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/ )

This fixes some errors ;)

Try this and you will get a more detailed error message. Something with UB8 CoCreate.. if I remember correctly. I could not solve this in my short test maybe someone of you know how to handle this error.

If you override the dpnet.dll in Wine you get a bit different error message. But it's the same error at all.

When using native (producing the Host error):
can you check you have in /etc/hosts a line with

A.B.C.D Something

where:
- A.B.C.D is an IP of your machine
- and Something is the output of hostname command

That shouldn't be a Problem in wine >1,
but yes, there is my LAN-IP and hostname in /etc/hosts...:
Code:
$ cat /etc/hosts
127.0.0.1   localhost
192.168.0.5   computer_name

Greetings!

I have some success with condor and wine 1.1.8 by using natives for d3dxof,dinput,dinput8 and dpnet. Game starts and is flyable with mouse and keyboard. But joystick is not working. Are there any special tricks related to joystick? Condor seems to create a controls.ini file for the pilot but in "assign controls" it does not recognize the stick. Stick is MS FF2 USB and is detected by KDE control center.

Windows version is set to windows 2000 in winecfg.

Perhaps writing the controls.ini file manually could be tried but format looks a bit cryptic.

What kind of joysticks have you gotten to work?

I tried Saitek X52 first, it works flawlessly. (except the coolie-hat, still a workaround needed)
If you wish, I will try two more sticks later today, would be Saitek's too.

I chose Windows XP, not 2k and did not override "dinput*", only d3dxof.dll and sometimes dpnet.dll.

With Xp and only d3dxof.dll as native stick finally started to work (except the hat..).

How about joining online races, any luck?

Then looked up this CLSID in regedit, didn't exist! But doesn't change anything either... :P

I found this on the internet as a decl:
Code:

DEFINE_GUID(IID_IDirectPlay8Server,

This looks like the Interface...

Well, I don't know OLE, so...
