Airport bugs in HERE

Postby mosquito » Sat Nov 25, 2006 8:39 am

Please post your found bugs here.

Geitau, Niederoeblarn and Unterwoessen are already known as problematic and will remain as they are.

Agathazell: windsock is standing in the middle of the take-off lane
Think positive, flaps negative.

TIMMERSDORF : Don´t know if you call this a bug ??

Buildings are on the wrong side. Also the airport is on the other side of the road in RL.

Yes, i know that Timmersdorf is not ready yet.

BTW Really great work !

I was making a finalglide to wildberg but when I got close i started to worry,
I couldn't see the airfield.
And when I was above it, I still couldn't.
So the PDA tells there is an airport, but there is none.
Think positive, flaps negative.

Scharnstein takeoff to the West with Open class ballasted is impossible, because the takeoff run seems to start half way the runway.
Tow plane turns North at the end of the runway and disappears into the hills.
In RL tugs turn south and fly around the hill on downwind leg because there is little space north of the field.

BTW, is it at all possible for a scenery maker to influence the tow plane patterns in the scenery?

First off thanks a lot for this terrain and especially adding in Wr. Neustadt and surrounding into the latest version, that's where my flying club is stationed! However I found quite a few bugs regarding the position of cities/towns and the direction of airfields, etc... Here a small list:

1) Wr. Neustadt only has 1 airfield in Eastern Alps whereas there is Wr. Neustadt West military airfield (LOXN) and Wr. Neustadt Ost airfield (LOAN).
2) Anyway the one airfield we have in Wr. Neustadt doesnt fit either.

- LOXN only has grass strips
- it has many different strips to take off from (cross wind angle being <30° that way)
- its main runway being 36, the one in EA is kind of 06

-LOAN has a singe concrete strip
- its direction being 09

3) Where are the cities/towns?

Both airfields are basically right INSIDE Wr. Neustadt so they should be encircled about 3/4 by city

I will try to dig up some satellite pictures and pictures of the runways to show in detail what I mean.

Here's a picture of the airfield from straight up from our club's barracks

You can clearly see here the many different strips to take off from, 36/18 right and left (r being the long main runway, l being the short one), 06/24, 09/27, 14/32 right and left.

Again this is not a rant, I just want to point out some things I find worth correcting

As i posted in the release thread of the scenery, only 2 airfields are made according to the original and all others are using GENERIC data.
This is also why WR.Neustadt airfield does NOT look like in RL, same with all other airports, except 2.
I also know that the position of the airfield is not correct, because if it was correct, then it would NOT even be in the scenery. It was just a gentle thought for austrian pilots to add it, although it cant be exactly where it's in reality.

Accroding the cities: at first, this thread is for AIRPORT errors. Second, all cities included in the scenery are handpainted in every texture, and there are not ALL cities included. This would be quite impossible with such a big scenery.

Due to this, it should be clear that i won't add anything of your "arguments" to the to-do list because these aren't "problems" which are to be discussed in here.

Today I had a great flight into the slovenia scenery.
Nice experience to fly into an area you know extremely well,
but you didn't know what was behind the sceneries end, know I do.
I just wondered why you didn't use the slovenian airfields from the slovenia scenery?

There is no runway in Samedan, there is only the windsock.

But on a mountain near to the arifield i could see a runway and a building.
It was moving when i flew over it and looked at it...

That's the Condor "airfield visible through mountain" bug. It's nothing to do with the scenery. It's also quite difficult to fix apparently, so we will be seeing it for some time to come ...

But is it possible that the runway in Samedan is missing or at the wrong place?
Because this one that i can see through the mountain is 3 KM away from Samedan!

Have to agree. I 've sent a post of this above if you scroll up. If you fly straight above the ridge you can see the airfield moving right under you through the mountain. Maybe its a missing airfield WH made :) Don't know but anyways,.... it's a bug that will be fixed in the next patches for this great scenery I guess
