If you think you can take SBC2010's excperiences with you and make SBC2011 better, then its definetly a GO from me.
By making it better, I'm thinking listening to constructive critisism from the Condor community and ignore all the bullcrap from people without starting a fight. Having carefully planned the arrangement before launching it is also nessecary. Discussing and changing loads of rules etc... during the compeition is a bad deal.
Good luck!

I vote for GO of course, with few 'improvements':
(all imvho of course)

- more (in number) realistic tasks
- rare arcade tasks
- less alpinistic tasks (no obstacle, no too dangerous tasks etc)
- slower tasks (imho under 110-120-130, max. 135 km/h) (of course I am not talking about really slow/weak tasks like 80/90 km/h in 3h etc)
- more flatland tasks
- tasks 2h+
- non changeable rules during contest

IMHO u have to precise your target group... It is impossible to make tasks 'perfect to all'. Question is which direction tasksetting should go...
For some ppl slower/more realistic/flatland tasks may be just too boring. And it is OK, as they prefer smthng else...
But it works opposite as well... For some, tasks far from reality, may be not worth their time...

Maybe first group of pilots is majority in C? Maybe most not care? Maybe noobs are affraid of "realistic" tasks (coz it takes too long to finish or make them tired) Who knows.
(BTW - If they will fly only short/fast/arcade they will never learn, but that's another story).

IMHO (but I am not sure) would be good idea to split your contest into two kind:

1st - SBC11 - traditional way, maybe even little relaxed in rules (as was proposed by some pilots)
2nd - SBC11b - smaller in participants contest for those old fashioned, with little different/longer tasks, diff. weather, harder rules, more days counted etc

With such move - no complainers maybe ;)

PS
No offence... And of course maybe such post is not needed. ;) Ignore than. :)
No matter where you go... There you are...

Jeroen, last year it was in between : start server at 20H30 (Paris Time = 19H30UTC in winter)
So that's a good compromise isn't it !

If we do it, if we organize this competition, ... (due to the large amount of work needed, its not at all decided) ... we would like to make it longer (more weeks of race)
and make it start earlier which makes probably in November 2010 even if we could still call it SBC2011 !
That will make it possible to finish at the end of March 2011 or beguinning of April and allow most of real pilots, even the lucky ones starting their real season quite early, to finish the competition with the rest of the group !

PIT : we are definetly not able to organize TWO competitions in parrallel !

Its impossible for the very small team of tasksetters to produce 2 x 35 good tasks !

And two sets of rules .. etc ...

Too much work ...we are sorry ...

GO! SBC 2010 was great, 2011 will be too!
There are 10 kinds of people in the world...Those who understand binary and those who don't.
