For the last two weeks i have been running a server on a Friday night called Fawlty Towers.
This server is always a non racing task, The task is laid out but you will not be able to start.
It will always be "Club Class" so no water. Everyone will be asked to fly in one group to assist
any newcomers. All new pilots are welcome and at least one question is mandatory.
The reason for this is to introduce new pilots into condor without the pressure of flying fast.
And of course for the old farts who want to just fly around, See the sites, help the new guy's, kick back, Have a Bud.
and anyone who is sick of the silly half thermal tasks that are flooding the server list.
Tasks will start on Friday each week until people get bored or another Competition crosses it
that the regular pilots want to fly in.
The tasks are there for enjoyment and instruction only.
Anyone who wants to play around will be kicked immediately.
Any and all instructors are welcome to join and appreciated.
All the Old Farts (you know who you are) are welcome.
If the tasks by some miracle become popular then another server will be launched and i will try to
even out the instructors and experienced pilots between them.
Until now the server has started at 19:30GMT not to early and not to late although the last few
tasks have lasted quite a while as there was no racing.
Results will not be posted to condor club as no points will be awarded as you are unable to start.
That means no winner and nobody will be last. Just flying around and having fun.
Let's see if we can put some relaxation and fun back into Condor.
Cheers Basil.

Landscapes will be:-

Provence
Scotland HD
UK VFR3
Eastern Alps2
and West swiss
New Zealand 0.8
Slovak Rep 1.0
Slovenia HD
Hahnweide SW Germany 1.08

Excellant idea. Half a bottle of Siraz and an old farts joystick at the ready.

Will there be a recommended TS channel?

Just use the usual KC2010 team speak server in the Bladder Busters channel.

Awsome initiative!
The best way of learning is by teaching! :D
I think it would be a good idea to promote teamspeak a bit.
Maybe some text on the server for instance. The social bit is crucial on such a server and teamspeak is the best and easiest way.
Many newcommers might not know about teamspeak, how to use it etc.

Cheers!
Kristoffer

The TS mentioned above is a TS2 Server.
To install and use it watch the following extracted from an old thread:
_______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

You can download the program here >>> TeamSpeak 2 Client

Install the prog as usual.

Then...
you need the server-IP where the Serverprogram of TS is running and a passwort, if required.

Example:Speedbattle TS
IP-Adress: teamspeak.speedbattle.com:8767
password: *I don't write the PW in here, but you know it- it's the name of the old wooden school glider (in one word).*

Normally the adress is a number like 185.12.85.95 ...... and the port ":8767". Here it's a bit different but the same.

Then follow these steps:

Image

Then click on Local Adressbook, right click in to the white area...

You're done ... just hit connect.
The added server is now permanent saved unless you change something.

Cheers :D
