Creating a new sketch with the ASK21 Part1/3
To create a new sketch from the basic model, created previously, with shadow and semitransparent glazing, while keeping the same texture, it is necessary to proceed in a rational way, in order to avoid disappointments in the transparencies.
In this new sketch, we will open the cockpits of the glider, tilt the model on the left and forwards, with its pilots, then change the position and slightly modify the assistant, so that it seems in talking with the crew.
In general, but other variants certainly exist, it is always necessary to proceed in the same way, by successive "Combine" and "Separate" with necessarily a step consisting in isolating and saving a separate file containing all the semitransparent glasses in their final position, in order to combine them by a "Merge" to the sketch in a last step.
Once this preliminary step is carried out, the glazing of the glider is eliminated. Then the elements of the sketch are recombined in the following order by successive "Combine":
- Non-transparent solid elements.
- Shadow on the ground.
- Glazing by a "Merge" and a final "Combine".
In detail, the process for this project:
1 / Load your initial model. Save this model with "Save As" with a generic name. This new file can be used for all the other sketch that will be created, so it will be clever to make one or several copies in an other directory.
2 / Make &ventually a copy of this scene with an appropriate name, reflecting the final goal, by "Save As".
3 / Cockpit in opening position
Combine the rear glazing and its support with a "Combine".
Position the assembly with a "Rotate" in its open position.
Combine the forward glazing, its support and the front instrument panel with a "Combine". Position the assembly in its open position.
Save the sketch.
4 / Positioning the glider with its pilots
Isolate and lock the Shadow and the Assistant, and make them disappear by clicking on the eye.
