Creating a new sketch with the ASK21 Part1/3
To create a new sketch from the basic model, created previously, with shadow and semitransparent glazing, while keeping the same texture, it is necessary to proceed in a rational way, in order to avoid disappointments with the transparencies.
In this new sketch, we will open the cockpits of the glider, tilt the model on the left and forwards, with its pilots, then change the position and slightly modify the assistant, so that it seems in talking with the crew.
Work with a copy of your original sketch by a "save as".
Work on this copy, make all your new arrangements, and save your work!
When you new sketch is finished, and when you are ready, proceed as follow:
In general, but other variants certainly exist, it is always necessary to proceed in the same way, by successive "Combine" and "Separate" with a first mandatory step consisting in isolating and saving in a separate file all the semitransparent glasses in their final position, in order to combine them by a final "Merge" to the sketch in a last step.
Once this preliminary step is carried out, the glazing of the glider is eliminated. Then the elements of the sketch are recombined in the following order by successive "Combine":
- Non-transparent solid elements.
- Shadow on the ground.
- Glazing by a "Merge" and a final "Combine".
The two picture below show the original sketch and the modified sketch.
Easy, isn't it!
You will get 2 cx files but only one texture.
As all the textures in Condor are loaded at the beginning of the simulation, it is a great saving of time and space, and as said before
you can always adapt the size of the texture to the level of details you want.
Good work on your object dedicated to Condor.
