Colorado 1.2 was an experiment that was mostly successful. I took the lessons and used them to create Uvalde 1.0 which is both larger and higher resolution than Colorado 1.2. With the success of Uvalde I thought I would redo Colorado. I am now remaking Colorado 6X larger than before and with the same resolution as Uvalde 1.0. I have come up with textures I like for both the mountains and the valleys. Below are a few screen shots of the current textures. I still have a few issues to correct before I’m done with textures but I thought I would share the progress.

Soon I will be doing airports so here is a good time to let me know which airports should be included, the scenery will cover almost all of the state of Colorado.

For Colorado airports here's a list where gliders fly now:
Kelly Airpark, Boulder, Owl Canyon, Meadowlake, Durango Val Air, Fremont County, Salida Harriet Alexander, Buena Vista, Telluride, Aspen, Air Force Academy

others where camps are held:
Creede Mineral County, La Veta Cuchara Valley, Silver West, Walden, Steamboat Springs, Granby, Kremmling, Rifle, Crawford, USAF Academy Aux Bullseye, Leadville Lake County, Glenwood Springs, Limon

There are lots of others that might be useful for Condor. I can send you the *.cup file I fly with if you're interested.

Thanks David,

I'll make sure I get these in. I have the .cup file form turn port exchange, as you know I can't put every airport in or I'll never get the scenery done but I do want to put in all that could possibly be used to flying a contest from.

It will take about a month (less if some snow doesn't show up for skiing) and I'll have a good flight planner map to look at and then we can determine what additonal airports should be added.

David

I've been snowed in for 3 days now so I've had an unexpected amount of time to work on Colorado 2. Here is an update as to what the airport situation looks like.

While I may have covered all the truly used airfields, I'm a bit concerned that I don't have enough coverage to make Colorado 2 a good condor scenery. I'm open to any airfield additions that any one thinks should be added.

Thank you! It has been a long time since I have actually flown the Sangre de Cristo mountain range. Had some of my best flights there. I flew version 1.2 and was happy. 2.0 is awesome. Still have not contacted wave yet. Too bad the Condor weather generator does not give realistic cloud bases. Several times I have flown in real life cloud bases were above 18K. Oh well at least your scenery makes it worth it. Thanks again.

You can achieve proper cloud base and thermals by manualy programing the Flight Plan.

Save your flight plan. Then open it up in the "Notes" program. You can read the programing in plain english at that point. Just modify Temp until you get an 18k thermal.

I downloaded the Colorado 2.0 but it does not have the application file. How do I install it?

Thanks,
Lane

Colorado 2 is a great addition to Condor. Thanks for the hard work and effort. I love flying the Sangre de Cristo range.

I was wondering if and how to connect or add the southern portion of the Sangre de Cristo down to Moriarty. I have flown out of Moriarty and Taos many times up and down the southern range. For practice and flight planning a 1000km out of Moriarty up the range to Salida and back is a truly awesome trip.

Any ideas on how to accomplish this?

Thanks, Stephen Michalik

Morarity is a scenery in development. It is the same style as Colorado 2.0 but with out the darkness problem that Colorado suffers. However one scenery begins were the other one ends. There is no way to connect the two. It is not possible to make one scenery cover both Colorado and New Mexico.

Morarity is almost complete. I am working on details of the Morarity airport, including adding the cross wind runway that is suppose to be in construction soon.

Saddly my time is very limited this year and progress has been slow. Keep your fingers crossed.
