21st Sept. UPDATES

Great news after the weekend of hard races! The first seven pilots in the league flown all the five tasks and the overalls are getting much more realistic now! John Holland from United Kingdom takes the lead with 4149 points, just 7 points ahead of "Mr. italian pride" Roberto Ferretto, in second place with 4142 points (without those 17 penalty points in T3 he would be in the lead...). Third place for Guillaume Trichard from France, with 4043 points. Nobody else could get over 4000 points up to now.

Some interesting data from the new statistics scrollbar: Total distance flown: 37.509 Kms - Total in-task flight time: 258 Hours - Total flights: 184.

Five days left to join and ten racing days missing to the end of the competition... Keep up the great flying!

OVERALLS

UH! That's because cloud base is a bit variable I think... I tried to get all turnpoints in the valleys but it was not possible sometimes.
By the way, with randomize weather on each flight on, that should not happen every time (when I tried the tasks locally it never happened)... sorry about this little "race bug"!

You are in 7th place, not bad at all!!! Keep on with the race and try to be more focused on the (cloudy) turnpoints

Tried Task 5 tonight. Last leg is a bugger! Where is all the lift?

Late in day, into wind, dying thermals, weak ridge and a long way still to go!

Passed by one my favorite gliding sites (almost one those guess where in Condor moments):

Rusults for Day 7

Another night of races and some swapping in the first positions: Simon Berx from Belgium is now in the lead with 4147 points, followed by Jon Holland from UK with 4125 points and Roberto Ferretto with 4122 points. Three great pilots in a difference of just 25 points... the race is still open!

We would like to officially say thank you to Hitzi for his great DSHelper: without this precious piece of software this race would have never been possible!

Four days left to join and nine racing days missing to the end of the competition... Get in the game!

Not been kind to me either, on my last run which was going very well my joystick decided it didn't want to work anymore, it still works but it just decided it didn't want to continue with that task :(

DAY 8 - 23nd Sept. 2009

No way to move those three guys from the top! The positions are swapped again, this time Jon Holland from UK with 4113 points sends Simon Berx from Belgium in second place with 4089 points, followed by Roberto Ferretto with 4065 points. Some of you may be asking why today they have less points than yesterday. Since the system recalculates the scores at the end of each race, if from a day to the other the number of pilots increases for one or more tasks, the overall scores may be lower for all.

One word about the scoring system: the 1.000 points Condor (and FAI) algorithm was completely rewritten in PHP (1500+ lines of code!) to allow a fully automated (and precise) calculation of the scores at the end of each race.

Three days left to join and eight racing days missing to the end of the competition... Jump in!

DAY 9 - 24th Sept. 2009 @ 09:30 AM

Great news! With a big jump ahead, "Ace pilot" Achim Holzmann from Germany takes the lead with an amazing 4294 points! Another new entry in second place is Jarmo Karjalainen from Finland, with 4105 points, followed by Jon Holland from UK slided in third position with 4103 points, just 2 points behind.

To better understand the situation, let's see how these three great pilots performed in the tasks and how many tries has already been used by each:

Hi, I was flying a task today with Simon Berx, S1 on server 2-B and when I reached Morgon I got somekind of error where my rudder did decide to slipp all the time, couldn't recover and disconnected. Is there any chance of flying it again? my last try then.

Regards CM

It's like my joystick failure on Task 05 last try which I just count as bad luck :)
