Hey there Frank, been following your articles over on Soaring Cafe with much interest.
I think the root of your problem is that the tutorials are centered around an older version of Terragen than 2.4. There were a lot of changes between the two editions of the program, and if I recall correctly you need Terragen Classic.
Lurik has a link to it on his tools website:
http://www.lurik.fr/CondorScenery/00-Ou ... Outils.htmI can't offer much more help than that as I'm using a totally different method for creating scenery textures that may or may not work (currently leaning towards "not", at least until I get a more powerful computer). *laugh*
Hey, thanks for the clue. I did notice the version numbers were different, but didn't think that it would make that much difference. I uninstalled Terragen 2, and installed Terragen Classic (I noticed that Terragen 2.4 installed in C:\Program Files\PlanetSide\Terragen, while Terragen Classic installed in C:\Program Files\Terragen as the video suggested).
Now I can open Terragen, but I still can't follow the video tutorial because the next step is to open the .TGW file for my world, but I don't have one (it sounds like ASH33M provided a sample Crete.TGW file on the forum, but that doesn't help me). Am I missing a step here?
Also, I have seen some oblique references to the SOPack utility (which also requires TGGuiLib?) - is this required at this stage of the tutorial?
And lastly, the tutorial references the Strata1.bmp and Strata.bmp files, which are not in my Terragen folder - where do these come from?
Sorry for all the questions, but as I'm sure you can see from my Soaring Cafe posts, I'm definitely a dummy when it comes to scenery creation

.
TIA
