DG-101g cockpit

Postby StianA » Sun May 29, 2005 10:43 am

Hello!

The cockpit is pretty much done now! Now I'm just going to save the detailed cockpit to an own file, and delete all invisible faces. Then I'll go back and lower the cockpit detail for the external version of it.

(I forgot to unhide the headpillow here, so it's not visible on this render)

Now it's just mapping everything, and putting textures on which is left.

For you DG-101g pilots: Is it just like you remember the pit? Anything that could be improved?

Regards,
Pawnee

Nice work Pawnee!
Can you refine the contour of the cockpit area?
You can add some extra polygon around the cockpit and the canopy too.

And as i see u just forgot the optimization... i see a lot of unnecessary polys. If you permit i attached a picture about what i think. You can weld this faces to spare polygons.

Regards.

Thanks for your answer Lesco!

It's more optimized now, and I've added some extra polygons around the cockpit, like you said:

And I've mapped the externals aswell: (here you can also see it as a smoother canopy, as the result of the increased polygons on the front part )

Looks amazing, but from the inside look it seems a bit too wide at knees level.

OK since the Cruiser mentioned above I would like to say something that I was not sure about before.

Something really looks wrong. Maybe it's just an angle of the view but there are two possible ways to describe what might be wrong:

1.The canopy is too wide

or

2.The control panel is too small

Anyway the like I said maybe it is the angle of a picture. In the RL the interior is rather tight than spacey thats way the next generation DG303 has a little bit wider one.

I might be wrong so lets wait for the thought of other pilots.

Here's the outside pic of the DG I usually fly. Maybe you can also find some clues from here (the 5cm white edge around the canopy and canopy window).

Thanks for your comments! Like Andrej said, we found that problem 2 days ago, so it's being fixed

I'll post a new render/screen when I've done all the fixing needed !
