We decided to open the competition to virtual pilots from all over the world. Daily tasks for Condor (same tasks and meteo from actual JWGC Standard class) can be downloaded here:

www.postfrontal.com/wgccondorcup/

Flights (FTR+IGC) must be sent to the official competition e-mail condorcup@soaringwear.com for scoring.

Thank you

Not the same :? In RL there is a line on start and finish. In virtual there is a sector.

We are having troubles with long start lines, even modifying the FPL by hand you can't get it with the right lenght on the map and Condor PDA (even if it is OK when you look to it with J), so we decided for sectors.

If you know a way to let it work please tell me...

It is problem with lenght of line??
If you set a 180 degrees sector with radius 3800m I think you will always in "RL" in proper place at start.

Thank you Bagger, I will try with today's task (the start line is 8 KMs btw).

You can fly all the races and send them, there is no deadline. As soon as we have enough flights we will start the ranking.

Of course the end of the real competition will also be the end of the virtual one.

Thank you

Yesterday I learned from TE that you can open the fpl with program: "notepad". You can change than the lenght of the startline by hand You can aslo cange agles and other stuff.

See screenshot. I made a startline of 20km and a finishline of 2km with 50 degrees angle

Thank you Fransois, I already used this tecnique for area tasks, my problem was using windows as start and finish, with 180 degrees sectors it will work.

Today's task in Rieti was changed half an hour ago because there was a fire in the area and takeoffs are happening just now. I'll publish today's task in the next half hour.

Thanks

First results on-line!

Only one notice: for scoring purposes please always use the same glider for all races.

Thank you

Hi Tellurico

I'll try to organize that we, Team Brasil, can participate. I'll probably host the race #1 this night and then the others on the next days.

Only 1 thing I need to know: when setting up the server (I'll use DSHelper) what parameters I should give to the server (join time, etc) so that will be no chance that the flight will be rejeted?

A step by step guide will make it sure not to make mistakes and have hours thrown by the window... :?

Btw, all are invited to participate :D

The only problem will be that the pings of our European friends will be about the same that we have when participating on races in European servers... (about 300-400ms) and that my poor connection will accept only about 15 people.

Polewka I am happy you guys are setting up a server for this race, unfortunately for logistic reasons it is impossible for me to do that here at the Rieti airport... No problem for server settings, it is OK if you keep the flight hour as the task one and just send me in email the IGCs + FTRs for scoring.

In real races here at JWGC there is no limit on the time window, so I put it at Condor's max 120 mins. This means you can raise the Join time as long as you want (I put 15 minutes thinking to offline races). Just please don't change the Notam and meteo settings. That's it! :D

Tom I am glad you had fun! But for the task you have to thank Alex Bruttini, the official task setter for the races here at JWGC!
